FARIDABAD - AN OVERVIEW
Faridabad district after being carved out from the erstwhile Gurgaon came on the map of Haryana in August'1979 as the 12 th district of the State. On its North it is bounded by Delhi and on the West lies Gurgaon district; on its East and South, the district shares the boundary with Uttar Pradesh. The river Yamuna flows down the boundary of the district.
The present day, Faridabad gained its face during the industry oriented second five year plan (1956-61). So rapid has been the development that it has out grown Faridabad beyond bounds and its Industrial estates fell short and even the residential areas have been invaded by small scale/ancillary industries and job-oriented work shops. Many large and medium scale industries came up on either side of Delhi-Mathura Highway , beyond Ballabgarh till Palwal. In this way, Faridabad Industrial complex has carved out a sound and rich industrial base.
